Detection technology overview
We may compare sound at ground level and accessible valves, use wireless sound recordings, or review meter, pressure and pump readings. We select the checks that suit the actual system.
How We Check the Pipes
- Review the network — Confirm the route, branches, pipe data, water source, pressure and known changes.
- Plan access and isolation — Identify valves, permits, escort requirements and workable shutdown windows.
- Choose the inspection conditions — Quieter periods or agreed operating controls may be needed where machinery or traffic affects listening.
- Compare sections and listening points — Inspect the network progressively and narrow the priority area.
- Mark and report — Mark the suspected location or zone and provide the reporting level agreed in the quotation.
Understanding water loss
Reliable water-meter or flow records can help estimate water loss in m³/day, m³/hour and L/min. Normal water use must be considered. Pressure changes or pump-start frequency alone do not give an exact leak rate.
Reporting
Tell us before the visit whether your team needs photos, a findings summary or a formal report. We confirm the required documents in the quotation.

After the suspected area is identified
A surface mark shows the suspected area to check. The actual defect is confirmed when your appointed contractor exposes the pipe. Excavation, repair, pipe replacement and surface reinstatement are separate unless included in the quotation.
